TextThe Extension Service News for June 1927 shows this photograph with the following caption: ''The first Extension car - as used in 1913. Home economics Extension trips started like this before the home bureaus were organized. Fashions fourteen years ago differed considerably from what they are today, but some of the faces are familiar. From left to right are: Claribel Nye, now associate state home demonstration leader; Martha Van Rensselaer, state home demonstration leader; Natalie Thompson, now assistant professor of domestic art at Pennsylvania State College; Ruth Graham, now Mrs. John Frederick Morris of Verdun, Quebec, Canada; Katherine Mills, now Mrs. Melancthon Hamilton of Oneonta, NY; Edna Alderman, now Mrs. W.F. Wolfe of Cedar Grove, WV; and Mr. Sanford, a student chauffeur, who won some note at the time by telling how he was able to live on 85 cents a week.''
